Public Participation

The Chair of the Parish Council will invite members of the public to present their questions, comments and petitions submitted under the Council’s Public Participation Procedure at the start of the meeting. Please note that the Clerk will record the names of those wishing to address the Council together with the subject matter prior to the start of the meeting and each speaker will be permitted 3 minutes in which to address members. Members are reminded of their obligations under the Code of Conduct.

To note apologies for absence and consider reasons given.

2022/37                Declarations of Interest and Dispensations to Participate

a)         To receive declarations of interest in respect of matters contained in this agenda, in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972 in respect of officers and the Localism Act 2011 in respect of members.

b)        To receive any dispensation requests received by the Parish Clerk and not previously considered.


2022/38                Minutes of Council Meetings

 To confirm and sign as a correct record the minutes of a meeting of the Parish Council held on 19th July 2022 (copy attached).

2022/39                Wiltshire Council Report 

To receive any written report from Cllr Prickett.

2022/40                Highways/Environment

a)         Parish Environment including:

a.       Bus Shelter – to receive options and quotations for work required to the bus shelter opposite the Fleur de Lys (information attached)

b.       Dog bins – to receive a report from Cllr Snell (July minutes refer)

b)        Highways – to receive and consider any highway reports which require attention and/or action including:

a.       Parking in Hollis Way – to receive and consider correspondence from resident (copy attached)

b.       Planned footpath Goose Street to Brokerswood Farm Shop – to consider the further of the planned footpath given the information received regarding the closure of the Farm Shop

c)         Rights of Way – to receive updates from Cllr Carey

 PL/2022/05259 - Land North of Frome Road, Southwick, BA14 9QQ - Erection of 2 no. detached self-build dwellings (Outline application will all matters reserved except access)

 PL/2022/06589 -  1a Hoopers Pool, Southwick, BA14 9NG -  Demolition of workshop and erection of single dwelling

 PL/2022/06472 - Newpool Farm, Poplar Tree Lane, Southwick, Trowbridge, BA14 9NB - Conversion of barn to 2 No. holiday-lets; demolition of 2 No. modern barns;

erection of single storey reception building; erection of 8 No. glamping cabins;

and associated drainage and landscaping works.
