THE PLAYING FIELD AT SOUTHWICK.

Minutes of the Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 2nd February, 2016

at 7.00pm in the Village Hall.

PRESENT.    Ted Pomeroy - Chair, Stephen Carey, Jennie Rowe, Ian Laing,

                      Anne Aland. Kath Noble, Roy Butt.

1.  APOLOGIES.    None

2.  MINUTES.

     The Minutes of the Committee Meeting held on the 2nd December, 2015

     were agreed and signed.

3.  MATTERS ARISING.    None

4.  CORRESPONDENCE.   None

5.  TREASURER’S REPORT.

      Statement balance as at 14.12.15 - £3,806.93.

      We have received an anonymous donation of £1,000 towards the cost of

      repairing the swings.  Account from AVA £1,822.86 plus VAT £2,187.43 - this

      has been sent to the Parish Council for payment on our behalf.

      In January we requested the Parish Council to increase our precept to

      £5,000 to cover our expenditure for the current year.

      Estimated expenses - Grass Cutting £1,630 - Hedge Cutting  £90 -

      Spraying/Fertilizing £250 - Pitch Marking £270 - Play equipment repairs £2,200 -

      Various tree works £500 - Rospa inspection £125  - Ditch maintenance £150 -

      General repairs (benches, gates etc) £100.  Total £5,315.

6.   FIELD REPORT.

      Trowbridge Under 13’s have only played one game in December and one in

      January.

      Dog fouling - more and more people are letting their dogs free on the field, the

      play area needs to be enclosed.

      Cricket Club has moved the gang mowers into the tractor shed and have removed

      a minimal amount of rubbish.

      The trees overhanging the shed and goal area require attention - contact

       Phil  Goldsmith and one other.

7.   PLAYGROUND REPORT.

      Anne’s questionnaire is in the current edition of the Village News.

      Groundworks - these to be carried out when the weather improves

8.   SALE OF LAND.

      Stephen confirmed contracts of exchange have been signed by the two Parish

      Council representatives, we are now awaiting Matthew to sign for Southwick

      Car Sales.

9.   ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

      Roy has a hall booking by Scentworks Wessex for dog training, they wish to use

      the patio which will be fenced off.  As we have already agreed the patio is ancilliary

     to the hall there should not be any problem.

     Ted reported a group using the field on a Saturday morning - Roy confirmed a keep fit

     class, run by Dan Connally, uses the hall for an hour.
